If you manage a large number of QR Codes, it can be hard to find the exact one you're looking for — especially when file names have been changed by requesters, or when several codes point to the same destination URL. QR Search by Image lets you locate a QR Code by uploading a photo of it or scanning it live with your camera, so you can find, edit, extend, or re-download it without knowing its name.
Prerequisites
This feature is available on all plans.
Who can use this feature
Any user, including Viewers, can search for a QR Code by image or camera scan.
Search results only include QR Codes you have access to, based on your role and workspace.
Find a QR Code by image or camera scan
Sign in to your Uniqode account.
From the Global Search bar, click Search by image.
In the window that opens, choose Upload an image or Scan with camera.
Scanning with your camera
Click Scan with camera. Your browser will ask for camera permission — allow it to continue. Uniqode only asks for this permission when you use this feature, not during normal sign-in.
On desktop, this opens your webcam. On mobile or tablet, it opens your device camera.
Line up the QR Code inside the focus square.
The search tab will reflect the QR Code link and name, you can navigate to it by clicking on it.
Note: If you're on desktop and the QR Code is somewhere a laptop can't easily reach — or needs to be scanned up close — try signing in to Uniqode on your mobile device instead, so you can use its camera.
Tips for best results
Keep the QR Code inside the focus square Whether you're uploading an image or scanning live, lining up the QR Code within the yellow focus square gives the most reliable read.
Use a clear, well-lit image Blurry or poorly lit photos are the most common reason a scan fails to decode.
Switch to mobile for hard-to-reach codes If a QR Code is physically far away or in a spot a laptop can't reach, your phone's camera will usually get a cleaner scan than trying to photograph it for upload.
