ScanGuard helps you identify potential anomalies in your QR Code scan patterns, giving you clearer insights into where your scans are coming from.
When potential anomalies are detected, the related scans are flagged on your dashboard for review, helping you manage them with ease.
By reviewing flagged scans, you can:
Understand scan sources more clearly
Verify unusual activity when needed
Gain more accurate insights into your QR Code's performance

Types of anomalies detected on ScanGuard
Currently, ScanGuard detects three types of anomalies:
Scan Spike from a Single IP → Flags sudden bursts of scans from the same IP address.
Automated Tool or Bot Scans → Identifies scans coming from bots or automated tools (non-human traffic).
VPN data centre scans → Detects scans originating from VPNs or data centre proxies, often masking true user activity.
How to check for anomalies for your QR Codes scans
After you enable ScanGuard, scans with potential anomalies will be automatically flagged across your QR Codes.
For aggregate analytics
Flagged scans for all your QR Codes will be displayed as a card and on the Scans chart on your Analytics Dashboard.
In the card for Flagged Scans, you can click on View details to see which QR Codes and patterns contributed to the anomalies.
Click on the scan count for a specific QR Code to see details of the anomalies and flagged scans for that code.
To view your analytics without the flagged scans, you can turn on the toggle for Hide flagged scans on the top right.
For individual QR Code analytics
You can also see flagged scans for individual QR Codes in their respective analytics dashboard.
In the card for Flagged Scans, you can click on View details to check details of the anomalies responsible for the scans
To view your analytics without the flagged scans, you can turn on the toggle for Hide flagged scans.
Marking anomalies as expected
You can mark an anomaly as expected if they are legitimate (e.g., scans from your office network or during a big event) by clicking Mark as Expected to confirm that the scan pattern is not an anomaly and doesn't require further attention.
Comparing charts with previous period
Comparison charts aren’t available when flagged scans are hidden. Disable Hide flagged scans and check Compare with previous period to view comparison charts.
