Integrate Microsoft Dynamics 365 with Uniqode

Sync leads captured through Uniqode directly into Microsoft Dynamics 365 as CRM contacts

Written by Bidisha Sinha

Uniqode's Microsoft Dynamics 365 integration automatically syncs the leads you capture through Uniqode into your Dynamics 365 CRM as contacts. Once connected, every new lead is pushed to Dynamics and enriched with details like job title, company, and website, so your sales team always has an up-to-date contact record without manual data entry.

Connect Microsoft Dynamics 365 to Uniqode

  1. Sign in to your Microsoft Dynamics 365 account. Make sure the account has the feature permissions needed to access developer resources.

  2. Go to your Dynamics 365 Power Apps home page.

  3. Click the gear icon for Settings, then Developer Resources.

  4. Copy the Web API endpoint shown on this screen — this is your environment URL.

  5. In Uniqode, go to Integrations and select Microsoft Dynamics 365.

  6. Paste the environment URL you copied in step 4.

  7. Click Connect and grant the requested permissions to authorize the connection.

Once authorized, Uniqode is connected to your Dynamics 365 environment and ready to sync leads.

Configure your sync settings

Auto sync

Auto Sync controls how contacts flow from Uniqode into Dynamics.

  • Auto Sync on (recommended): Every new contact captured by any team member is pushed to Dynamics automatically. No manual selection required.

  • Auto Sync off: Contacts aren't synced automatically. Admins and members choose which contacts to send instead, giving your team a chance to review or qualify contacts first. Admins can sync any team member's contacts; members can only sync their own, and admins can disable member syncing if needed.

Contact sync logic

When a contact is synced, Uniqode looks up your Dynamics org using the contact's email address and phone number to check whether a matching record already exists.

  • No match found: Uniqode creates a new Contact record in Dynamics, applying your configured field mappings and contact ownership automatically.

  • Match found: Uniqode updates the existing Contact record. Whether fields are overwritten, filled in only if empty, or appended to depends on the sync behavior you set for each field mapping (see below).

Advanced settings

Click Show under Advanced Settings to configure:

  • Sync Notes: Sync any notes captured during a card exchange into the matching Dynamics Contact.

  • Search for existing contacts by website: In addition to matching by email and phone, also check the contact's website against existing Dynamics records to reduce duplicates.

Once you've configured your settings, click Save in the top-right corner of the integration configuration page.

Set up field mapping for Contacts

Field mappings control which Uniqode fields populate which Dynamics Contact fields when a contact syncs.

Default field mappings

Out of the box, Uniqode maps the following fields. You can edit any of these to fit your workflow.

Uniqode Field

Dynamics Field

First Name

First Name

Last Name

Last Name

Email

Email

Job Title

Job Title

Company

Company Name

Phone Number

Business Phone

Website

Website

Card Owner

Contact Owner

Note: By default, the Uniqode Card Owner is set as the Dynamics Contact Owner. You can change this mapping if you'd rather assign a different owner.

Add custom field mappings

Beyond the defaults, you can map any additional field captured on your Digital Business Cards to a corresponding field in Dynamics.

  1. Open the Contacts tab under Field Mapping

  2. Click Add Mapping in the top-right corner [SCREENSHOT: Contacts field mapping tab with Add Mapping button]

  3. Select the Uniqode field you want to map

  4. Choose a Dynamic Mapping to sync real, per-contact data, or a Fixed Mapping to send the same constant value to every synced contact

  5. Select the matching Dynamics Contact field to map it to

Choose your sync behavior

For each field mapping, choose how Uniqode should handle a value that already exists on a matching Dynamics Contact:

  • Overwrite: Replace the existing Dynamics value with the Uniqode value.

  • Complete if missing: Only fill in the field if it's currently empty in Dynamics; otherwise leave it as is.

  • Append: Add the Uniqode value alongside any existing data instead of replacing it.

Once you've finished configuring your mappings, click Save in the top-right corner of the field mapping tab.

How lead syncing works

  1. When a lead is created in Uniqode, it's queued to sync to Dynamics 365 and enrichment begins in the background.

  2. In Dynamics 365, synced leads appear in the Contacts table (this may be labeled differently depending on how your environment is set up, but it's usually found under Contacts).

  3. In Uniqode, open the Microsoft Dynamics 365 integration page to check the sync status of a lead. Statuses include in progress, pending, synced, and failed.

  4. Click on a status count to see the leads in that state. If a lead failed to sync, you can see the error reason here.

Viewing synced contacts in Dynamics 365

Once a lead syncs successfully, open the corresponding record in Dynamics 365 to see the enriched contact details, including:

  • First name and full name

  • Email address

  • Job title and company name

  • Business phone

  • Description (pulled from summary information captured on your Uniqode asset)

  • Website

  • Owner (the user the lead is assigned to)

Note: The owner assigned to a lead is matched by email. For a lead to be correctly assigned to the right owner in Dynamics 365, the email address of the user associated with the lead in Uniqode must match their email address in Dynamics 365.
