Here's how to get started with QR Codes in the Uniqode dashboard. After you sign up, you can start creating QR codes.

Step 1: Head over to the QR Code creation menu

Head to the Uniqode dashboard and select QR Codes in the left panel.

Next, select 'Create QR Code' on the screen that appears.

Step 2: Choose the type of QR Code you wish to create

With Uniqode, you can create several different types of QR Codes.

For this tutorial, we will create a Website QR Code.

Step 3: Enter the relevant details

For a Website QR Code, you must enter the URL.

You can turn-on Multi-language support if you have multiple language/locale versions of your website. When enabled, this tool allows the QR Code to detect the locale of the user's device, directing them to the corresponding website you've set in the platform. If the user has a language/locale on their device that you have not created a link for, it will send them to the Default website you've selected (in this case, English is the default language).

You can also use Parameters to add URL query parameters or query strings to your website's link.

Add the parameters and their respective values to specify, sort, and track visitors to your website through your QR Code.

Step 4: Customize your QR Code

Once you've set up the website URL for your QR Code, you will be taken to the customization page.

Here, you can customize several parts of the QR Code, including the color and shape of the eyes, pattern, frame, and logo. You can customize the background by picking a color or uploading an image.

Alternatively, you can create a template for your QR Code by navigating to the templates page from the dashboard.

The templates you create will appear in the 'Templates' option on the customization screen.

The QR Code creator will inform you of how scannable the code is along the way. However, we still recommend using your smartphone to test the QR Code to make sure the colorful QR Code is also scannable, particularly if you are using a background image. Once you've finished customizing the QR Code, select 'Next'.

Note - Uniqode also offers password protection for sensitive information in QR codes.

To secure sensitive information linked to your QR Code using a password, click 'Show advanced settings' at the bottom of the customization page.

Find the switch under 'Password protection' and turn it on. Next, enter the password you wish to use for the QR Code. The password must be at least 6 characters long. Your scanners must enter the password every time they scan your QR Code to access its information.

You can also set the timezone and start-to-end dates to control the visibility of your QR code.

​Step 5: Download your QR Code

Once you've finished creating the QR Code, you will be taken to the 'Finish' page of the QR creation journey.

Here, you can name your QR Code and label it for better organization, save your design for future use, or download it in PNG, JPEG, SVG, PDF, or EPS format.

Dynamic QR Codes are editable. Even if you've printed out the QR Code, you can still go back and change the URL.

Click 'QR Codes' in the left-hand panel to see a list of all the QR Codes you've created.

Click 'Edit' and follow steps 2 through 4 to customize your QR Code.

Creating static QR Codes on Uniqode is similar to creating dynamic QR Codes. However, you can neither edit nor track it after you've created it.

Step 1: Head over to the static QR Code section

Once you've selected the 'Create QR Code' button on the 'QR Code' page, scroll down to the bottom to choose from various static QR Codes you can create. We will be creating a static website QR Code for this tutorial.

Step 2: Enter the relevant details

Enter the website URL on the second page. Unlike dynamic QR Codes, you cannot create multi-lingual QR Codes or set query parameters here.

Step 3: Customize the QR Code

You can similarly customize your static QR Code to dynamic QR Codes. Refer to Step 4 in the creation of dynamic QR Codes.

Note - You cannot apply passwords to static QR Codes. When dealing with sensitive content, we recommend using dynamic QR Codes.

Step 4: Download your QR Code

Just as in dynamic QR Codes, you can name your QR Code, assign labels, save the design, and download your QR Code in 5 different formats.

However, remember that any change you make to this QR Code is final, and alterations cannot be made further. You will also notice that you cannot edit a static QR Code from the QR Code menu.
