QR Code templates help you stick to your company’s brand guidelines for every campaign. It lets you ensure that every QR Code has the same design attributes representing your brand in the best way possible.

While you’re creating your QR Code, during the customization step, you’ll notice a default template under Templates. This template is editable and can be customized.

Note: This feature is available from PRO plan.

Similarly, you can create your own templates and apply them to your QR Codes.

Here’s how it works:

Creating a template from a custom QR Code

Step 1: Save the QR Code design

Once you’ve finished creating your QR Code and it’s ready for download, you can save its design as a template. Click ‘Save as template’ under ‘Show advanced options’.

Step 2: Edit the template

To access your saved template(s), select Templates on the left navigation bar.

You can click the three dots on the top right corner of the template to duplicate or rename it.

To edit the template, click on it. Once you’ve made changes to the design, click 'Save'.

Once you edit a QR Code template, the changes apply to QR Codes currently using it. You can duplicate the template to avoid affecting those QR Codes.

However, when you delete a template, its design attributes will still be present on the QR Code.

Creating a template from scratch

Step 1: Navigate to the QR Template menu

To create a new template from scratch, head over to the QR Template menu and click on the 'Create' button.

Step 2: Design your new template

Design your custom QR Code template using the customization screen.

To learn more about customizing your QR Codes, click here.

Now, when you’re creating/updating a QR Code, you’ll find these templates listed when you’re customizing it. You can pick one and keep it as is or modify it based on your requirements.

Any customizations you make to an existing template will override its design.

Implementing templates in organizations (For Business+ users)

You can implement templates in an organization to make sure that the branding guidelines are followed throughout. This will restrict users to selecting from only the available templates for customizing their QR Codes. All other design attributes will be disabled.

Here’s how it works:

Go to 'Organizations' under the Account page in the dashboard and select the Settings button next to your organization to Manage Permissions. In the window that appears, enable the toggle to 'Enforce QR Templates', and click 'Save'.

Note: Only the Owner and Administrator in a master organization can perform this action.

Once QR Code templates are enabled, only the Owner and Admin in a master organization can create/update QR Code templates.

If templates are enabled for an organization, the Admin and Editor don’t have access to the QR Code Templates page.

To create/update a QR Code template, you can follow the same steps above. The only difference is that once you delete a template, its design will revert to the default template.
