Understanding Uniqode's QR Code Analytics: Features and Limitations

Written by Bidisha Sinha

Uniqode offers a robust analytics platform for tracking and understanding QR code performance. This article provides an overview of key features, metric definitions, plan-specific capabilities, and reporting limitations to help you make the most of Uniqode's analytics tools.

Key Metrics Explained

Uniqode analytics provides several metrics to help you track QR code performance:

  • Total Clicks: The total number of interactions or clicks on links within your Linkpage.

  • Unique Clicks: The number of distinct devices that clicked your Linkpage. A single device counts as one Unique Click but can generate multiple Total Clicks.

  • Views: The number of visitors who landed on the Linkpage, regardless of whether they interacted with any buttons or links.

  • Clicks: The number of times visitors clicked a link or button on the Linkpage.

Plan-Specific Analytics Features

Uniqode offers different analytics capabilities depending on your subscription plan:

  • Essential Plan: Includes basic metrics such as total scans and unique users (unique devices).

  • Core Plan: Adds advanced analytics like scan location, device information, GPS tracking, CSV export, and API access. Analytics are available for a rolling window of 60 or 90 days, depending on the plan.

  • Enterprise Plan: Provides lifetime analytics access, allowing you to retain and view historical data beyond the rolling window.

Reporting Capabilities and Limitations

  • Weekly Reports: Weekly performance reports aggregate activity from all QR codes and are sent only to the account owner. Per-QR-code weekly reports or sending reports to other recipients are not supported.

  • Separate Reports for QR Analytics and Form Responses: QR scan analytics and form responses are managed separately. You must export individual reports for each.

Time-Based Data Visibility

  • Rolling Window: Analytics are available for the most recent 60 or 90 days, depending on your plan. As new data comes in, older data beyond this window is no longer accessible.

  • Lifetime Analytics: Available only on the Enterprise plan, allowing access to historical data without time restrictions.

Common Analytics Issues and Solutions

  • Delayed Updates: Analytics may have a short delay before new scan events appear. The Analytics tab updates faster than the QR codes list view.

  • Discrepancies in Scan Counts: The dashboard overview shows cumulative lifetime scan totals, while individual QR code analytics are time-filtered (default: last 7 days). Adjust the date filter to match lifetime totals.

  • Summary vs. Detailed Analytics: The summary view displays total lifetime scans, whereas detailed analytics may show 0 if no scans occurred within the last 60 days.

By understanding these features and limitations, you can better utilize Uniqode's analytics tools to track and optimize your QR code performance.
