Google Ads allows you to build conversion-based retargeting audiences using data from your offline campaigns. By integrating Uniqode with Google Ads through the Insights tab, you can send QR Code scan events as conversion events directly to your Google Ads account — enabling smarter bidding and more targeted remarketing.
Prerequisites
Uniqode Business Plus plan or above with admin privileges
At least one QR Code created in the platform
An active Google Ads account
A conversion action created in Google Ads with a Conversion ID and Conversion Label
Insights enabled on your Uniqode account (start a free trial from the Insights section if not yet active)
What You Need from Google Ads
To set up the integration, you will need two pieces of information from your Google Ads account:
Conversion ID — A unique identifier for your Google Ads account
Conversion Label — Identifies the specific conversion action to track
You can find both values in the Tag Setup section of your conversion action in Google Ads.
Setting Up Google Ads Retargeting
Step 1 — Navigate to Google Ads in Insights
Sign in to your Uniqode account.
Click Insights in the left navigation menu.
If Insights is not yet active, click Start Free Trial to enable it.
Inside the Insights tab, click the Google Ads option.
If the integration is not yet connected, you will be prompted to connect it.
Step 2 — Enter Your Conversion ID and Conversion Label
In Google Ads, navigate to Tools & Settings → Measurement → Conversions.
Select the conversion action you want to track.
Go to the Tag Setup tab and copy your Conversion ID and Conversion Label.
Back in the Uniqode Insights → Google Ads connection screen, enter the copied Conversion ID and Conversion Label into the corresponding fields.
Click Save / Connect to establish the integration.
Step 3 — Verify the Integration
To confirm the integration is firing correctly:
Open a new browser tab and scan a QR Code
Check Google Ads under Goals → Conversions → your conversion action to see if the conversion was recorded.
Note that it can take up to 24 hours for conversions to appear.
In the data payload, confirm that your Conversion ID and Conversion Label are present — this confirms the integration is configured correctly.
Step 4 — Check Conversion Events in Google Ads
Go back to your Google Ads account and navigate to the Conversions section (under Tools & Settings → Measurement).
Look under the Goal section to see event-related data flowing in.
Note: The conversion may initially appear as "inactive." This is expected — it can take some time for conversion data to propagate and become active in Google Ads.
Understanding Legacy Integration Behavior
If you had previously enabled Google Ads via the legacy integration in the Integrations tab under QR Codes, and then also enabled it through the Insights integration, the platform will only honor the Insights integration — the legacy one will be suppressed.
Conversely, if you disconnect the Insights integration, the legacy integration will automatically be re-enabled.
This means the two integrations cannot be active simultaneously — the Insights integration always takes priority when both are configured.
